The Building Department, responsible for the administration of the Ontario Building Code, has a summer opening for a motivated individual who wants to see the municipal sector in action. Join us as we position the department for what promises to be an exciting 2023 construction season (approximately May to September).
The successful candidates will:
- Be motivated by achieving the highest levels of customer service and driven to make a difference in our community;
- Have a keen desire to understand all aspects of municipal development services and uphold our commitment to continuous improvement;
- Be committed to creating stronger collaborative links within our department, across other municipal departments and within our development community.
Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to those registered in a full-time secondary/post-secondary program in the next academic year;
- Familiarity and/or experience with the Ontario Building Code and construction industry considered an asset;
- Must have good customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong knowledge of Wasaga Beach considered an asset;
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Valid Class “G” Ontario drivers’ license preferred;
- Able to provide an appropriate criminal records check and drivers’ abstract upon hire.
