Weekly Sessions: Thursday Evenings from 4:45 pm to 9:15 pm
The Town of Wasaga Beach’s Recreation, Events and Facilities Department is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Coach for its program. Candidates should be energetic and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for the sport and working with children and youth.
Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator, the successful candidates will be responsibilities for assisting with skill assessment, skill development and teaching, individual and group supervision, lesson plan implementation, progress tracking, evaluation and parent communication / relations. Additional duties include:
- Implement and deliver course/program curriculum;
- Supervise program participants;
- Maintain communication with program participants and/or students;
- Provide exceptional customer service and promote town of Wasaga beach recreation programs;
- Maintain sport, coaching or instructing accreditation and good standing with accrediting organization;
- Ensure safety protocol is followed and provide a safe environment for program participants;
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to provide an appropriate vulnerable sector criminal records check upon hire;
- Friendly disposition with ability to coach children of different ages
- Minimum 16 years of age;
- 1 – 2 years gymnastics or related experience (i.e. cheerleading/dance) considered an asset;
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire;
- Possess NCCP Full Foundations or Level 1 certification with Risk Management and Risk in Sport considered an asset;
- Possess High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, considered an asset;
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
