Description
The Town of Wasaga Beach is now accepting resumes for summer seasonal employment (May until September 2023) for the position of Economic Development Assistant.
The Economic Development Assistant will assist in coordinating economic development initiatives involving local businesses and tourism.
Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to those registered in a full-time secondary/post-secondary program in the next academic year in the area of Economic Development, Communications, Business Administration, Tourism, Marketing, Planning or related field;
- Strong attention to detail, customer service, interpersonal, documentation, organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task priorities and work independently as required;
- Possess strong knowledge of Wasaga Beach, economic development and tourism, with a demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for working with local businesses and the public.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to prepare correspondence and public facing communication products as well as work with staff and the general public in a professional and discretionary manner;
- Demonstrated computer abilities utilizing Outlook applications, Microsoft Office and social media channels. Experience with graphic design and/or website management is considered an asset;
- Valid Class “G” Ontario drivers’ license preferred;
- Able to provide an appropriate criminal records check and drivers’ abstract upon hire.
