Description
The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking an effective leader to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Manager, Information Technology Services.
General Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Finance/Treasurer, as the Manager of Information Technology (IT) services, the responsibilities and oversight include but are not limited to:
- managing daily departmental administrative functions and oversees staff;
- preparing reports, policies and procedures;
- preparing department budget for approval by council;
- procurement activity within approved department budget;
- IT activities related to:
- systems development, application support, network database management;
- network architecture - ensuring network and data security and integrity of the municipal data environment is being supported and tested;
- electronic records management aligned with Clerk’s record management policies and procedures;
- telecommunications, and office productivity solutions;
- implementation of CCTV cameras and secure facility access where applicable;
- Web Master of the municipal website;
- responsible for development and implementation of IT strategic plan;
- Project Manager for IT initiatives and IT lead for municipal facility projects.
Qualifications:
- A related degree or diploma from an accredited University or College program, in Information Technology/Computer Studies or related program with a minimum of six years’ related experience;
- Broad computer technology knowledge that includes: software applications; database administration; computer operations and planning; training applications; computer concepts; information technology operations; programming; design; troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems;
- Proven effective experience in budget management and supervision of staff;
- Proven leadership skills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, elected officials, the business community and general public;
- Strong analytical and project/time management skills;
- Able to work days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as required;
- Able to provide a valid Class “G” Ontario’s driver’s license and appropriate driver’s abstract upon hire;
- Able to provide an appropriate criminal records check upon hire;
- Able to lead, contribute as a team player and be committed to quality customer service.
