Description
The Town of Wasaga Beach is now accepting resumes for Summer Seasonal Employment (May until September 2023) for the position of Parks Labourer.
The Parks Labourer will assist in the maintenance of parks, sport fields, cemeteries, trails and facilities and provide support for the scheduled summer special events. Labourers will utilize pickup truck and trailer, riding and push mowers, garden and hand tools, trimmers and other garden related maintenance equipment.
Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to those registered in a full-time secondary/post-secondary program in the next academic year;
- Must have strong public relations & communication skills;
- Ability to work a variety of shifts; including days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays;
- Must be physically capable in performing the duties and be adaptable to extreme weather conditions;
- Experience in Park Operations, Golf Course maintenance, Horticulture or landscaping will be considered an asset;
- Possess valid First Aid and CPR certificates preferably;
- Valid Class “G” Ontario drivers’ license preferred;
- Able to provide an appropriate criminal records check and drivers’ abstract upon hire;
- Possess strong knowledge of the Town of Wasaga Beach;
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
- Must have CSA approved work boots minimum 6” to cover the ankle.
